Marion Michael & Winfried Michael with Airi Tedo
Family-run craftsmanship
Our family’s ancestors were already making pegs, spikes and parts for stringed instruments in the 19th century. The name Michael now stands for two generations of master violin makers in Munich. More than 70 years of combined experience in violin making guarantee what has always been important in this craft of the highest artistry: an excellent sound. Winfried Michael built up the violin making workshop in Munich and shaped it for over forty years.

and leading it into the future.
Since the beginning of 2024, master violin maker Ms. Airi Tedo has been a new member of the workshop. Her training took her from Tokyo in Japan to workshops in Würzburg and Mittenwald and finally to Munich. She now brings her many years of experience to Marion Michael’s workshop.
